Yes! A little! But we promise to take good care of you.

We recommend that you have a bite to eat beforehand and stay hydrated. It’s ideal not to consume alcohol prior to or the night before your appointment as alcohol can increase bleeding.

Having the tattoo area ‘hair-free’ before the appointment would be appreciated.

Yes! You can purchase gift vouchers in store and on our website:

It takes up to two weeks for the tattoo to ‘heal’. However it takes months for the skin to completely recover.

Every studio has their own recommended care methods. Ours are:

  1. Remove covering bandage when you get home from your appointment

  2. Wash the tattoo with warm soapy water

  3. Apply a layer of Bepanthen or Tattoo care cream

  4. Do not cover – let the tattoo heal in the natural air (unless you are going to be outdoors)

  5. Continue to wash and moisturise your tattoo 2-3 times or as required daily for approx two weeks

  6. If your tattoo becomes itchy or scabby – do not itch! This is a normal part of the healing process

  7. Avoid the sun, chlorine, salt water and soaking the tattoo for at least two weeks

Our preference is that you come to your appointment alone. The main reason for this is to ensure we keep our high standards of hygiene & allow enough space for the artists. We will take very good care of you!

We recommend you wait 3-4 days before exercising. You should avoid the sea/beach for around two weeks. If you want to swim in chlorinated water, its best to wait three weeks. We tell all our clients:  those that take the after care particularly seriously in the initial phase will benefit from their tattoo for a lifetime.

We are always interested in taking on new and talented guest artists. Please email us finelinetattoos@outlook.com with your portfolio.

In theory yes,  tattoos can be applied to scars. However similar to when we tattoo cover-ups they require an experienced artist. It should be noted that the scars must have healed completely and no reddening can be seen. Please email us photos of your scars and we can go from there.

We do HOWEVER, based on our experience finger tattoos do not heal well. We cannot guarantee that you will get the desired result with tattoos on the fingers. The ink tends to fade and drop out.
